The second stage of labor is when the birthing person is bearing down and the baby is coming through the birth canal. Sometimes the birthing person needs some encouragement. The few things I like to do are having the Mom touch the baby's head as it begins to reveal itself and have a mirror so she can see the baby coming. We can always do this in any position the birthing person is in. Then it will be very soon when everyone will meet the baby!
